Académie 2019, professeurs : Michel Dalberto (à gauche) étudiants et Thierry Escaich.
Blonay, 3 to 8 September 2021
Since 2019, a biennial piano academy has been organised at the Paul Hindemith Foundation in Blonay.
The idea: to offer seven young pianists the teaching of a Clara Haskil Prize (in 2021, Michel Dalberto, 1975 Prize) and to discover the always particular repertoire of the Clara Haskil Competition.
This repertoire differs significantly from the traditional piano competitions in the world, by the preponderance of works by Bach, Scarlatti, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Chopin, Ravel and Debussy, by the presence in the programme of chamber music works (trios to quintets), and by the creation of contemporary works: premieres by Bruno Mantovani (2013 Competition), Thomas Adès (2015 Competition), Nicolas Bacri (2017 Competition), Thierry Escaich (2019) and Heinz Holliger (2021).
It is thanks to this characteristic repertoire, inspired by that of Clara Haskil, that the Competition remains a reference for many young pianists, music lovers and music critics.
This new academy aims to reflect this singularity by highlighting this repertoire, and to provide passionate young musicians with the keys to continue their work, study and intimate understanding of musical works.
All master classes are open to the public
